Where can Hotel branded Gift Cards and Gift Vouchers be used?

At all Participating Hotels & Resorts. Visit www.rydges.com/gift-cards/, www.aturahotels.com/gift-cards/ or www.qthotels.com/gift-cards/.

Gift Cards and Gift Vouchers can be used for full or part payment for accommodation, experiences, food & beverage and any other hotel services that can be applied to a hotel guest’s account folio e.g. room service breakfast. Gift Vouchers can also be used for value-add service and product packages as outlined on the Gift Voucher e.g. Dinner for 2 at Gowings Bar & Grill.

All other travel costs and expenses incurred at a participating Hotel, Resort, Restaurant, Bar or Spa are the sole responsibility of the guest or card bearer.

What must a gift card holder remember when using a Hotel branded Gift Card or Gift Voucher?

They must have the physical Gift Card (not a photo of the Gift Card), the digital Gift Card or the electronic Gift Voucher on hand when redeeming the credit held on the card or voucher. The Gift Card can only be redeemed at the Hotel Brand on the front of the card. The Gift Voucher can only be redeemed at the Hotel specified by the logo in the top left hand corner of the voucher.

They should know the value on the card or voucher before making a purchase – if the total cost of the purchase exceeds the balance held on the Gift Card or Gift Voucher another accepted form of payment is required to make up the difference. Balances of physical and digital Gift Cards purchased via the Hotel Brand shops can be checked online by visiting www.rydges.com/gift-cards/or www.qthotels.com/gift-cards/. by using the check balance function on the website. Gift Cards can be used as many times as a user wishes until the balance held on the card or voucher reaches zero or the card validity expires.

Gift Vouchers purchased via the Hotel shops must be redeemed in full. Unused portion of Gift Vouchers is non-refundable, non-extendable and non-exchangeable.

How should a card or voucher holder book accommodation when using a Gift Card or Gift Voucher?

To book at a Participating EVT Hotel or Resort, we recommend users visit www.rydges.com, www.aturahotels.com, www.qthotels.com or www.priorityguestrewards.com to book using our “Best Available Rates”.

They may also book via the telephone for a participating EVT Hotel or Resort by calling our Reservations team.

Guests using Gift Cards or Gift Vouchers are still required to provide a valid credit card number to guarantee their booking and standard reservation & cancellation policies apply.

Please make sure you add notes to the reservation so the Guest Service Agent (GSA) checking in the guest knows that the customer wishes to use a Gift Card or Gift Voucher.

Can the Gift Card be used for cash advances?

No – Gift Cards or Gift Vouchers, or any amount standing in credit held on the card or voucher, cannot be redeemed wholly or partially for cash. No cash advances can be made at any time regardless if there have been one or more transactions on the Gift Card or Gift Voucher.

How does a user receive change when using a Gift Card or Gift Voucher?

When redeeming a physical or Digital Gift Card via the orange SVS terminals, the card is returned with the remaining value held upon it. We do not give back change in cash at any time. Any remaining value on the card can be used towards payment for any permitted service or product, but will not be provided to the cardholder or anyone else in the form of cash.

Gift Vouchers purchased via the Hotel shops (Groups360) must be redeemed in full. Unused portion of Gift Vouchers is non-refundable, non-extendable and non-exchangeable.

If an amount standing in credit on the Gift Card or Gift Voucher is not used prior to the expiry date the value will be lost and will not be remitted to the cardholder or any other person in cash or the equivalent value. The balances on a single or multiple Gift Cards or Gift Vouchers cannot be consolidated or transferred to a new card.

What happens if the Gift Card or Gift Voucher is lost or stolen?

We cannot replace nor refund lost or stolen Gift Cards or Gift Vouchers. Customers should treat the card or voucher like they would cash, and keep it in a safe place.

Are refunds available on a Gift Card or Gift Voucher?

If a Gift Card or Gift Voucher has not been used nor any value redeemed, we can offer a refund providing the refund is sought on the same date of purchase only and proof of purchase is presented. No refund will be given after the date of purchase.

Where can a user view their physical or digital Gift Card balance?

Gift Cards can be used as many times as a user wishes until the balance held on the card or voucher reaches zero or the card validity expires.

Gift Vouchers purchased via the Hotel shops (Groups360) must be redeemed in full. Unused portion of Gift Vouchers is non-refundable, non-extendable and non-exchangeable.

Once the Gift Card Or Gift Voucher reaches a zero balance or the stated expiry date has passed, the card becomes void. No additional credit or date extension is available to be applied to the existing card. Any additional value required will require a new gift card or voucher purchase.

What is the validity & expiry date on a Gift Card or Gift Voucher?

Gift Cards and Gift Vouchers in Australia are valid for 36 months from date of purchase or until a $0 balance is reached whichever occurs first. No standard validity periods exist in NZ but the 36 month validity period will also be extended to Gift Cards and Gift Vouchers issued in NZ.

Once the Gift Card or Gift Voucher has expired or there is a zero balance, the card or voucher is no longer valid and should be destroyed or deleted. Gift Cards or Gift Vouchers cannot be reloaded with any additional dollar value and the validity cannot be extended once expired. Gift Cards or Gift Vouchers expire on the date indicated regardless of whether any amount remains standing in credit on the card at that time.

The 36 month validity period does not apply to gift cards that are:

  • able to be reloaded or topped up
  • donated for promotional purposes
  • available only for a specified period or event
  • supplied at a genuine discount (e.g. $60 card for a dinner valued at $100)
  • part of an employee reward scheme
  • part of a customer loyalty program
  • second-hand gift cards
  • part of a temporary marketing promotion

What should I do with a tampered Gift Card or Gift Voucher?

Gift Cards or Gift Vouchers will be void and will not be redeemable if they are defaced, mutilated, altered or tampered with in any way. EVT may subject gift cards to verification and security checks at its absolute discretion. If you suspect that a card may have been altered, tampered with or is being used fraudulently, please inform your Front office Manager or General Manager.

Hotel branded physical Gift Cards can be purchased over the Front Desk at any participating EVT Hotel or Resort.

Can I use an Australian loaded currency Gift Card or Gift Voucher in a New Zealand hotel?

No – Gift Cards and Gift Vouchers loaded with AUD can only be used when travelling with Australia and Gift Cards and Gift vouchers loaded with NZD can only be used when travelling in New Zealand.

Can I use a Rydges Gift Card or Gift Voucher in a QT or Atura Hotel or Resort?

No – Rydges Gift Cards and Gift Vouchers can only be used at participating Rydges Hotels and Resorts.

Can I use a QT Gift Card or Gift Voucher in a Rydges or Atura Hotel or Resort?

No – QT Gift Cards and Gift Vouchers can only be used at participating QT Hotels and Resorts.

Can I use an Atura Gift Card or Gift Voucher in a QT or Rydges Hotel or Resort?
