Top 5 spots for romance

Skyline Drive In & neighbouring Atura Hotel Blacktown make Sydney’s top-5 spots for romance
Everything was more romantic back in the 1950s. Gentlemen held doors open for their dates, ice-cream didn’t have health-warnings, films left more to the imagination. And all of these charming factors combined to bring us the drive-in cinema where romance blossomed in the bucket seats of Cadillacs across America. Well romance is back, because drive-ins are making a resurgence. In the Western Sydney suburb of Blacktown, the Skyline Drive-In is melting hearts (and sundaes) every night with the relaunch of its 1950’s style cinema. On Valentine’s Day they’re screening the romantic classic, The Notebook, so grab a date, share a banana split and recline the passenger seat. And if you feel like ‘getting a room’, the hot new Atura Hotel is right next door and they’re doing a range of packages, one of which includes tequila and whipped cream – naughty!
