At Atura Albury, we believe that sustainability can be stylish, and small changes can make a big impact. That’s why we’ve reimagined the way we source, serve, and supply for our guests:

• Less is More: In room pens and pads are now available only on request, reducing unnecessary waste while still keeping you covered.
• Mini to Maxi: Single-use bathroom products have been replaced with refillable Mr Smith pump dispensers, offering a luxurious experience that’s kinder to the planet.
• Locally Sourced & Loved: From our dining venues to minibars, we work with suppliers from the Albury Wodonga region, who share our sustainable vision where we can – fresh, local, and seasonal.
• Water Smarts: Low-flow taps and dual-flush toilets, that save thousands of litres of water each year without compromising your comfort.
• Phasing Out Plastic: Refillable filtered water stations in public spaces make it easy to stay hydrated without single-use bottles & replacing water to purchase in aluminium cans.
• Support More, Waste Less: Recycled cleaning cloths are purchased via a local company that supports young adults with disabilities.

Together, these steps show that small, thoughtful choices – whether in sourcing, service, or day-to-day operations – can create a big difference for our planet and community.

We’re building sustainability into the way we update and run the hotel:

• Energy-efficient LED lighting with motion sensors in smaller spaces.
• High-efficiency appliances installed during upgrades.
• Landscaping with native, drought-tolerant plants.
• Low-flow taps and dual-flush toilets, that save thousands of litres of water each year without compromising your comfort.
• Installation of heat pumps to provide hotel water throughout the hotel which are provide extreme efficiency & zero-on site emissions.
• Paperless check-in, digital business cards, and digital compendium keep everything sleek and efficient.
• Supporting Australian Conservation Foundation through annual donations.

Internally, we foster a culture of environmental stewardship through regular training, team engagement and community collaboration.

Our team members can also choose to participate in our STRETCH Workplace Giving, donating to trusted community partners, including RSPCA & WWF Australia.

We’re choosing to respond to a changing climate, empower our people and customers to take part, and share our progress along the way. So far, we have:

• Room Refresh: Skip a room refresh and not only save water, you’ll also receive a $10 food and drink voucher as a little thank you.
• Reduce and Recycle: Separate recyclables from general waste utilising the dual bins located in your rooms – our housekeeping team will take care of the rest.
• Sip Responsibly: Bring a reusable bottle and refill it at our public water stations to cut down on single-use plastic.
• Mindful Shopping: Avoid purchasing merchandise derived from threatened species, heritage artifacts or items of significant cultural value whilst travelling.

Sustainability isn’t just about the planet – it’s about people, too. At Atura Albury, we acknowledge the Wiradjuri People as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we operate, and we pay respect to their Elders past and present.

Community Partnerships: Our commitment extends into the local community, supporting initiatives and organisations that make a tangible difference. We are proud partners with Border Trust, our regions local community foundation, and contribute to many local community and sporting event fundraisers by way of voucher donations
