Wonga Wetlands
Birdwatchers and field naturalists will rejoice in this wetland wonderland of lagoon and billabong ecosystems being restored to their former glory after many years of farming and grazing. Enjoy wandering through the three kilometres of walking paths that meander alongside some of the seven lagoons that cover 80 hectares of the Murray River flood plain. As you do so, see how many of the 154 identified bird species that frequent the area you can tick off!
The wetlands are also home to a Wiradjuri campsite, an abundance of native flora and fauna, an indigenous scar tree and ancient river red gums.
